★★★ The Peter Prescription, by Laurence Peter

This is a prescription for avoiding the Peter Principle. It has some good suggestions and offers good insight into human behavior. However, as with the Peter Principle, the actual implementation of such ideas is rather impractical, except on a limited basis by some members in a community.

★★★ The Peter Principle, by Laurence Peter

This and the updated version "The Peter Principle Revisited" are well-written with good examples and humor. They are easy reading. The observation of how people rise to their level of incompetence is well-founded, but the possible ways to avoid them are not very practical considering the demands made by a society on its members.

★★★ The Peter Pyramid, by Laurence Peter

This book is an interesting observation of how modern society is organized in an upside-down pyramid, i.e., how multiple persons and organizations collaborate to provide a single service to one person. Very interesting book.
